Frequently asked questions

Who are you?

Odarcon is a small, independent team, built by Tomer Wendel and Nir Diamant. We would still rather you judged us on the method, which you can see in full, than on names - but you should know who you are dealing with.

What do you do with my family history?

The screening runs in your browser, and none of it reaches us until you finish and press Send. If you write something in the free-text story box and tick its own consent checkbox, that text is included in what we receive - otherwise it never leaves your browser. The same is true of your name and email: nothing is sent until you press Send. Nothing goes to a law firm unless you separately tick the box that asks us to put you forward.

What does "pilot" mean?

It means the product is live but small on purpose, and everything is checked by hand rather than run at scale. The main limit, stated plainly: we do not yet have a vetted partner firm for any country. The screening you get is the real, full one - what pilot affects is whether there is a lawyer at the other end of it yet. Leave your details and we come back to you when there is.

What if the result is wrong?

The screening is built from published law and historical record, and it says plainly when it isn’t sure. If something looks wrong, tell us - every legal claim we publish traces to a specific source, and we’d rather fix an error than defend one.

Do you charge?

No - not to run the check, not to see your result, and not to be put in touch with a lawyer. Odarcon is paid by the law firms we work with, and what we are paid is not tied to your case, to which firm you pick, or to whether you pick one at all.

What happens if I ask for a lawyer?

You choose from a list of partner firms for your route, if one exists yet. During the pilot, for most routes, one doesn’t - you get your full result either way and can ask us to tell you when that changes. We don’t match you to a specific firm, and we take no fee tied to your case: that would be a referral fee, which is restricted in most of the jurisdictions we work in.

How do I delete my data?

Email us and we’ll delete everything tied to that address - your report and the routes you asked about. If you never pressed Send, we hold nothing at all, so there is nothing we can match to your request. Full detail on what we keep is in the privacy policy, which has not been through legal review yet.
