Privacy policy

What we collect

Nothing until you press Send. When you do, and tick the consent box, we receive: your answers to the screening questions, the routes you ticked, and the name, email and note you typed on the last step. The optional free-text story box and the optional question about religious or ethnic background are included only if you separately tick their own consent checkbox - left unticked, that text never reaches us at all, even if you wrote something in the box. If you close the tab or never reach the last step, we receive nothing. On the pages outside the screener, a short analytics record of the visit (see Analytics, below). Nothing else.

What we don’t collect

Documents - there is no upload feature anywhere on this site, so there is nothing to hand over and nothing for us to lose. Identity numbers, addresses, phone numbers or payment details - we don’t ask for any of them. Any answer content inside analytics events - those carry counts and categories only; your answers travel by the separate route described above.

Analytics

We run our own, self-hosted analytics - no third-party script, no cookie, nothing that follows you to another site. On the pages outside the screener, a visit records which page you were on, the campaign tag (utm_source) on the link you arrived through, your browser’s language setting, and your screen size. Not the referring site, and not the rest of the query string. There is no identifier that lets us join one visit to another.

Sharing with law firms

We only share your details with a partner firm if you specifically opt in to that, per route, and that choice is not pre-selected or bundled with anything else. It is a separate tick from the one that sends us your screening at all, and no firm sees a word of it until you make it.

Retention and deletion

We have not settled retention periods yet, and we would rather say that than publish a number we are not holding ourselves to. To be deleted, email [email protected] and we will remove everything tied to that address: your report and the routes you asked about. If you never pressed Send, we hold nothing that names you, and there is nothing we can match a deletion request against.

Your rights

This policy has not been reviewed against a specific legal regime yet, so we are not going to quote one at you. What we will do without waiting for that: tell you what we hold about you, send it to you, or delete it. Email [email protected] and a person will answer.
